Cuba

Cuba is an archipelago located in the Caribbean Sea. Its shape similar to a cayman has been a source of inspiration for local poets. It was discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus who said upon his arrival “This is the most beautiful land that human eyes have seen”, and Columbus was not wrong, Cuba is a beautiful land.

Being the largest of the Antilles, it has a privileged geographical position and a blessed tropical climate that has earned it to be called by many as “an eternal summer.” And this is because there is hardly any winter, so it has become a refuge during the winter months for many people who, for various reasons, want to take a break from the harsh winter of the continents.

A lot has happened since Columbus pronounced those words and despite time and its vicissitudes, Cuba continues to be a beautiful land that has much to offer and show the traveler. From its majestic nature in certain locations, through the architecture of its main cities to its wonderful people. It has earned recognition as an important tourism destination in the region. Specifically this year the Tripadvisor platform included it in its list of popular tourist destinations for 2023 and also appeared on the list of recommended destinations of the New York Times.

Cuba is known for being a land of tobacco and rum, its brands are world famous; or who has not heard of Habanos or Havana Club Rum, but it is also much more. It is a land of ingenious and enterprising people who have managed to keep the old classic cars that attract the attention of tourists working in their capital. They are also happy and supportive people.

Being an island in the Caribbean the climate is hot and humid. The best time to travel is between December and April when temperatures are more pleasant and at the same time coincides with winter in other regions, when a getaway is great. It is important to mention that cyclones and hurricanes are frequent in this geographical area. The hurricane season begins on June 1 and ends on November 30, so some people prefer to avoid traveling on those dates. However, if you are traveling and it coincides with a meteorological event, you should only carefully follow the indications of the Civil Defense and of course apply common sense and avoid imprudence.
